The Gold Coast attracts people from all around the world that want to know more about the “Pura Vida Lifestyle” at the beach… If you´re planning to visit Costa Rica, include “Pura Vida” (Pure Life) to your vocabulary! It’s an everyday phrase locals use to say hello, thanks, goodbye or everything’s just….. great.
We will make a route amongst the beach towns of Tamarindo, Hacienda Pinilla and Las Catalinas Guanacaste. This way you understand what suits you and your family the most, if interested in investing in the area.
As a matter of fact, one of the highlights about this particular region in Costa Rica is the connectivity it has with North America. The Guanacaste International Airport is only 1 hour drive, which makes it very convenient and “Pura Vida”!
Playa Tamarindo
Among the North Pacific coast, the different towns and beaches offer many amenities. Tamarindo is located in the Northwest side of Guanacaste. It’s the driest region of the country (300 days of sunshine yearly) and boasts the reputation of having the most beautiful beaches paired with incredible waves for surfers. You can walk from one end of Tamarindo to the other in about 20 minutes. It’s a dense little surf town right on the beach with over 100 restaurants, bars, clinics, fine dining, yoga, boutiques and grocery stores.
If you´re attracted to the vibrant lifestyle that Tamarindo offers, there are gated luxury communities like Los Senderos with a “Natural Modern” architecture and sweeping views of the National Marine Park´s beach and estuary.
All properties designed in Los Senderos are built specifically for each terrain with no two alike. The design focuses on clean lines, uncluttered spaces, visual clarity and simplicity. The architects envision flat or low sloping roof lines versus peaked rooflines, structural elements exposed rather than hidden, open floor plans as opposed to strict room divisions. The intention of “no-two-alike” is exactly what creates an organic, natural population of homes. Every home is customized, the design style must also be interpreted and applied in a way that reflects the lifestyle, inspirations and desires of the client. Just outside the gates of Senderos are the region’s premier gourmet grocery, oceanfront dining and the Senderos Beach Club.
Also El Tesoro is the most upscale community in the area (located only 5 minutes away from the Tamarindo regional airport) with neighboring state prices from $2 to $15 million where you can build your dream home and never miss a sunset! Lots are in a prime location for those looking to stay tucked away from the hustle of the town center, but integrated enough so that you are just minutes away from the beach and the social scene.
Hacienda Pinilla
Tamarindo Real Estate´s market keeps blooming but if you´re more into a wider luxury gated community with a familiar environment, Hacienda Pinilla is the option that suits the best! It´s a 4,500-acre area with 3 miles (5 Km) of coastline (includes Playa Avellanas, Playa Mansita, and Playa Golondrinas) and it´s just 15 minutes from the exciting town of Playa Tamarindo.
Within this luxury community, you´ll find multiple world-class surf spots, an 18-hole golf course, an exclusive beach club & restaurant, pickleball and tennis courts, 40 Km of bike trails and endless hiking and beachcombing opportunities.
Also, Pinilla owners can access the luxurious JW Marriott with 5 unique restaurants and the largest pool in Central America. The community is full of Howler monkeys, deers, tropical birds, iguanas and other wildlife that give you the true essence of Costa Rica.
The properties in Hacienda Pinilla are varied, there are condos, homesites and turn-key homes… If you´re considering the option of becoming an expat, this is the place for you and your family and if the goal is ROI, definitely this is also the place, since locals and foreigners are very interested in spending time with their families in a multiple bedroom house with privacy and short distance to the beach!
Las Catalinas
Las Catalinas incorporates the principles of New Urbanism where human connection and environmentalism are priority in design. This concept is accomplished with public plazas, automobile-free streets, shopping boulevards, restaurants, work/study spaces, and marketplaces.
Without cars filling the streets, Las Catalinas’ residents enjoy an old-time sense of community, a rarity in today’s world. Because Las Catalinas was designed at scale for biking and walking, homes and buildings make efficient use of space and topography. A walk through town may render thoughts of Antigua in the Caribbean, Casco Viejo in Panama, or Vernazza on the Italian coastline.
Of the 1,200 acres encompassing Las Catalinas Guanacaste, only 200 acres are planned for development. The remaining 1000 acres of forest is home to exotic birds, howler monkeys, iguanas, and the odd wild cat. Within the reserve, you’ll find thirty-five kilometers of hiking paths and varying degrees of mountain bike trails offering panoramic ocean views along the way.
If you’re into water recreation, you’ll love the crystalline waters of Playa Danta and Playa Dantita for snorkeling, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, bodysurfing, and more. Las Catalinas is an outdoor athlete’s sanctuary with multiple yearly events that gets the whole town involved.
One of the best opportunities that exist in Las Catalinas is the sale of unique Side By Side Lots in Las Catalinas in El Prado. Lot 89 is 325.6m2 and Lot 90 is 314.59m2. There is no other opportunity like this on the market!
These lots are located in one of the best sections of El Prado in that they have fabulous ocean views, are close enough to be walkable to town and to the beach, are located in front of the park, and have car access so you can drive right up to your front door in these lots.
